  Robin Martinez

Bass

Robin began playing the bass guitar at age 13 while living in Los Angeles, California.  He was influenced by the multi-cultural music scene of Los Angeles in the late '60's.  He would watch top bands perform along the Sunset Strip, at Alice's Restaurant, The Shrine Auditorium, and the USC campus.

While attending the University of Montana, Robin toured with a USO show during the summers.  The group performed at military bases around the world, with a repertoire that included all musical genres.  Robin also toured the world with Disney's Magic Kingdom on Ice as a percussionist.  These experiences, in addition to playing in a variety of bands, have provided Robin with the experience and flexibility to play many different styles of music.

In 1998, Robin graduated from Montana State University with a BS in Liberal Arts in Music.  He is currently the Assistant Principle Bassist with the Billings Symphony Orchestra.  He has performed with the symphony orchestras in Missoula, Helena, Bozeman, and Great Falls.  He teaches bass guitar and string bass out of his home studio in Billings.  He is now accepting new students for study.
